Learning Calculus Honors is so fascinating and very useful as it helps solve real-world problems in Engineering, Science, Mechanics, Economics, and more. You need – with the help of Allah Subhanaahoo Wa Ta-a’alaa – strong skills in Algebra, Geometry, and Trigonometry to succeed in Calculus Honors.

  • Pre-Calculus

Dive deeper into your knowledge of functions by analyzing their key features and combining them to solve real-world problems. Learn about trigonometric functions and their applications, along with new ways to use the coordinate plane to represent different types of functions. In this course, you will apply these skills to discover the power mathematics has in everyday life and to prepare for advanced mathematical studies in college or in your future career. Pre-Calculus serves as the foundation and the introduction to Calculus. Pre-Calculus focuses on higher-level critical thinking skills with an emphasis on concepts that highlight Allah’s Power through order and design.

  • Science Courses

  • Biology I

The study of Biology builds on the foundations of life science, scientific practices, and scientific thinking skills. In this course, students explore the relationship between living things and their environment and develop an understanding of biological concepts through scientific inquiry, investigations, interactive experiences, higher-order thinking, real-world applications, and virtual and hands-on experiences within the boundaries of the Islamic faith. The key big ideas covered in Biology include cells, heredity, evolution, classification, organisms, populations, and ecosystems from an Islamic perspective. Students can develop their scientific curiosity and enhance their mastery of biological concepts, which will enable them to make real-world connections and apply their understanding to everyday life and draw nearer to Allah (i.e., Al-Khaaliq) who created life/everything and Ar-Rabb who sustained life/everything in an amazing and perfectly controlled cycle of life system with His Power, Wisdom, and Justice.

  • Chemistry I

From medicine to nutrition and from geochemistry to physical chemistry, learning Chemistry includes a study of atomic structure, and the periodic table, bonding stoichiometry, states of matter and kinetic theory, solutions, acids, bases, and equilibrium, and simple chemical and nuclear reactions. The course includes proper laboratory experiments designed to reinforce the course content. Developing strong chemical skills and understanding of how matters change and evolve should strengthen your belief in Allah Al-Qadeer who can change anything He wills to change but He never changes.

  • Physics I

Discover the contributions of geniuses like Galileo, Ibn Al-Haytham, Newton, Al-Jazari, and Einstein by learning about the concepts, theories, and laws that govern the interaction of matter, energy, and forces. Studying physics with Islamic lenses helps us understand how the world operates. It is very useful, especially for STEM driven-careers (i.e., Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).

  • Physical Science

Ever wonder why more massive objects require more force to move? Perhaps you have questioned how new substances are made or how energy is involved in changes in matter? These are some of the concepts students will be exploring in Physical Science in order for them to understand that scientific logic and Islamic teachings are compatible. This course teaches the foundational concepts of physics and chemistry which will help you better appreciate the power and wisdom of Allah (Al-Qaadir, Al-Hakeem) who created everything with the right measure under the right conditions at the right timing for specific and sense-making purposes or purposes. Using scientific inquiry (focusing on the scientific Limaathaa: why things happen? and Kayfa: how things happen), interactive experiences (At-Tajaarib-UL-E’lmiyyah: scientific hands-on experiments), higher-order thinking (At-Tafaquh-ul-E’lmiyy), collaborative projects (At-Ta-A’awun-ul-E’lmiyy), and real-world applications (At-TaTbeeqat-ul-A’amaliyyah) students are able to demonstrate an understanding (Fahm and Tafaqquh) of the physical and chemical phenomena; enabling them to apply these properties to their everyday lives to help solve problems and/or develop useful products and benefit their community and all mankind for the sake of Allah (Subhaanahoo Wa Ta-A’alaa).
